Shushah Island, located in NEOM, has evolved into the city’s newest super-luxury island hotspot since it was first mentioned as the site of the largest coral garden in 2021.
Shushah Island will reportedly feature a marina, hotels, villas, a beach club, a museum, and the aforementioned coral garden amenities, including a nursery and research center, according to plans obtained by Hotelier Middle East.
When fully constructed, the island will serve as a global hub for showcasing new approaches and projects aimed at preserving and restoring coral reefs as well as advancing climate change maintenance strategies. In 2025, the coral garden is expected to be finished.
The initiative serves as the focal point of NEOM’s strategy for growing “in harmony with nature” and hastening the shift to a more lasting interaction between people and the environment.
