With the use of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence language processing tool, Expedia has developed a new travel planning option. The Expedia Group, which also runs the travel planning websites Hotels.com, Vrbo, Hotwire, and Orbitz among others, revealed the functionality to investors on Tuesday.
The functionality is presently being rolled out globally on the Expedia app for iPhones and the business claimed that the collaboration with OpenAI, the startup behind ChatGPT, is in a beta testing phase while cautioning that “the experience may not work exactly as expected.” It was unclear when and whether it would be available on Android smartphones right away.
