At a $2 billion valuation, Clear Street has raised $270 million in the second tranche of a Series B funding round. The company describes itself as creating “modern infrastructure” for capital markets.
The round now totals $435 million thanks to the funding, which was spearheaded by growth equity firm Prysm Capital. In May 2022, Clear Street, a New York-based company, raised the first round of the round at a valuation of $1.7 billion.
That initial tranche, which was the business’s first round of outside finance, was also headed by Prysm. Up until last year, Clear Street’s sole source of funding came from its co-founders. With a prime brokerage as its first step, the company was established in 2018 with the goal of “replacing the outdated infrastructure being used across capital markets.”
