Beam, a five-month-old startup looking to make it easier for general contractors to pay subcontractors and collect their own paychecks, has acquired $4 million in a venture investment round headed by Accel.
The startup’s creator and primary investor both previously worked for years at payments behemoth Stripe. Adam Eagle worked as a software developer with the fintech startup for five and a half years prior to launching Beam in October 2022, creating the architecture and essential APIs for Stripe billing, invoicing, commerce, and payments.
Amy Saper, the round’s lead investor, worked to establish and expand Stripe’s product marketing group before becoming a partner at Accel in 2019.
